The windows screen you refer to is the point where the BIOS hands over control of the system to the OS, AND the point where if you are over clocked the full over-clock kicks in.

Does that happen even when you are at defaults?

Yes, it did but I can get into Windows 7 fine now. But I am just not going to start RIFT, I just got done running tests on my hardware. My video cards, hard drives, ssd's, power supply, and my ram, and they all tested perfectly fine with no errors. Now I am just trying to figure out whether or not it is the motherboard that is bad, or my AMD FX-8150. Maybe it is both but I am starting to think it could be the motherboard. Since I had been having issues with my FX in it, and I just started having issues with my Phenom II 965 in it. But I can actually do things in Windows 7 with my Phenom II. My FX just freezes about 30 secs- 5 min after logging in.

That is not good to hear about the FX not working in the board.

If your other CPU works then possibly the CPU is the cause? Just thinking out side the box here.

It might be a good idea to take both in and have them tested.
