    Dual channel issue with Gene-z/Gen3

    Hey all,

Having an issue with a build I just put together. Gene-z/Gen3 mobo with 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Blue mem. I've looked at the other threads here. I've tried enabling XPM, setting mem voltages to what the manufacturer recommends, etc. Wanted to see if anyone else had run into these issues and had any other suggestions. I can run the machine fine with A1 and A2 filled.

    Thanks!

Forgot to mention I'm getting error 55, which I believe is "no memory installed". All the DIMMs check out. I'm guessing I'm going to have to RMA or swap this board out at this point.

What is the memory kit part number?

Which CPU are you using and which UEFI (BIOS) version?

Reseat the CPU (make sure cooler is not overclamed and warping the board), and try a single memory module in the slot furthest from the CPU and see if it will POST. If not, use slot A2 and update UEFI to the latest and then try again.

    Good afternoon,

The memory kit is CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B. The CPU is an i5-2500k with the stock cooler. I'll reseat the CPU when I get home and check the pins. I updated to the 3203 BIOS which I believe is the most recent.

    Thanks for your reply!

What process did you go through to update the BIOS? Did you clear CMOS after the second flash??

    Hello,

I downloaded the BIOS onto a USB and updated through the BIOS options. Seemed to go fine. I did flash the CMOS afterwards. I noticed in another thread you suggested flashing the CMOS with the CPU unseated, which I haven't done yet.

    Thanks again.

EDIT: I see I should have flashed it twice. Should I flash it twice again now, or one more time, clear CMOS, and try POST again?

had a similar problem on my maximus IV gene-z gen 3 when installing a corsair hydro H80 found the coolers backplate was pressing against the cpu socket shield and i resulted in a similar error 55 no mem installed

i took a gable on bending the backplate for the cpu cooler (from the H80 kit) slightly so it would not hit the cpu cocket shield and my error seemed gone 2 weeks now was constant before bending

try checking if you have something pressing againg or tuching the cpu socket shield aither your case loose screw or wiering.

dont know if i called a scu socket shield but it is place on the back side on your motherboard.
