It has been confirmed that an unlocked 6950 will not work with the Z77 mobos.
Need to know when new bios will be available.
Thanks in advance.

Still no fix for the Sabertooth?
Just loaded the 1206 new bios and still can't use the unlocked 6950's.. Am I missing something or is this not fixed yet?
Been checking this thread and the bios updates for the past month or so.
I have the same issue and am having to run the second non modified bios
When is the update coming?
Found a simple workaround. Simply mod the 6970 bios to identify itself as a 6950. Here's some instructions in case anyone needs help.
Boot your PC with the 6950 setting.
Download TechPowerUp Radeon Bios Editor and ATIwinflash. You can use the 6970 bios that's on your card or take the time now to download the latest one from the TechPowerUp site.
Now set the bios switch on your card(s) to the 6970 position. Open RBE and click Acquire/Flash if you want to use the bios on your card or Load Bios if you want to use one you downloaded.
Now on the main screen simply change the card name from HD6970 to HD6950 in the drop down menu and save it as 6950unlocked.rom.
Click load bios again and load 6950unlocked.rom.
Click on Acquire/Flash.
Click on Analyze.
Enable Force Flash.
Now Flash your cards one at a time.
Reboot and your good to go.
The problem is fixed with the 1504 bios for P8Z77V-Pro.

I can try to update this version of bios
