Thread: Maximus V Won't Post

Sigh...I am having the exact same "55" error code problem too. My ram only works in the b1 b2 slots...if I try a1 or a2 I get the 55 code

Its strange because the ram worked fine in the a1 slot before i put the rig together...I dunno what the deal is but am hopeful there is a bios patch soon.

    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    i also have this issue
when i put the ram on the a1 or a2 dimm slot, the hex led will show 55 error code
but it wil properly run if i put it in b1 and b2 slot
try to use mem ok button, but same result
still showing the same error code
bios version still use the stock bios
waiting for tonight to flash with the new bios (0701 from the web)

Update - the boffins are working on this and as soon as I have more information for you all I will post it.

Just to reassure all that are having the error 55 and the two Dimm slots seemingly not working. Not to worry they are fine and so is your CPU. I can personally confirm this having tested 16 motherboards and 10 IVY cpu's now.

    Awesome. Thank you, HiVizMan!

Will this be resolved in the next BIOS build?

Am0 please confirm the BIOS version you are on.
Actually just list your hardware in full. I have not been able to recreate with an SB CPU as yet. Only IVY to date.

Guys I managed to fix this problem by loosening my evap which cools my CPU which I had probably slightly overtightened. I suggest you try this, its a long shot but for some it may be a fix, especially those using bolt through / down type cooling.
