Which PCIE slot do i use?

i read on the internet that the RIVE can have 3 lanes running at x16 however in the book it only says 2, i have the HAF X case however if i put the card in the top slot the air duct that comeswith the case wont fit over the GPU so can i put the GPU in slot 3? (which i think is x16) or does it have to be slot 1

If you are using a single card then you may use any of the 16x PCIe lanes with no problems.

Dont move! This thread is being hi-jacked!

May i ask which slots should i use on RIVE for two GTX 680? This is important as i must choose correct SLI bridge for watercooling. From the description on the Asus web site

    4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16; x16/x16; x16/x8/x16 and x16/x8/x8/x8, (Red)) *1
    1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x8 mode, (Gray)) *1

i understood that 1st and 2nd red slots (counting from the CPU) would do just fine but im not sure.

    Thanks in advance.

I have no manual since i dont have the board yet So i have downloaded it from Asus site. Thanks for the clue
Does it mean that cards have to be installed into slots PCIE_X16_1 (the one near DIMMS) and PCIE_X16/8_3 (right above PCIE_X1)?

if you want to do it in a cheep way you can do tubing in between the cards??, but then again im not shure how ekwaterblock parts work/fit.
and the pciex slots yes, unless theres an updated version on the board , then thats the setup yes.
or you can wait and test and see how far apart the cards are before you order watercooling parts, to be on the safe side.
