    Will It Fit?

So i'm gonna need some build advice.
    Current Build:
    • Maximums Extreme IV-Z
    • i7 2700k
    • Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1866Mhz
    • Corsair H100 CPU Cooler
    • CoolerMaster 1200w Power Supply
    • CoolerMaster Haf-X Case
    • 2 X SLI GTS 450 (Dual Slot cards)
    • Creative SB X-Fi Sound Card (Single Slot)
Now i'm looking at upgrading my graphics cards to 2 GTX680. The one that I am looking at is the ASUS GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP which is a triple slot card. So what I need help with is if this will fit in my case in SLI. I'm pretty sure it will fit but i'm not sure if there will still be room for my sound card. So this is what I need help with. Any answers you can give me will be very helpful.

start counting slots on the back side and see if it will colide whit the soundcard??
the 680 inside part is a bout a few mm smaler then the 3 slot back plate part.
if the 450 have 2 slots and the soundcard is on the next slot then no ( unless it can be moves and used in another slot that is free ) ( thinking of the back side now ), but if theres 1 slot free between the screencard and soundcard then yes it will fit.

Nope, it's not a good idea...

Not sure, if your sound card is PCI-E x4 or x1 - but the thing is, it doesn't even matter... The placement of the PCI-E slots on your mobo are in a way that installing two triple slot VGAs can be done in only one variation. The first card has to go into the uppermost PCI-E lane, the next will fit only into the fourth one (third red). So, the only place for the sound card would be the bottom PCI-E slot - if you are lucky and kkn is right (actually, he may be not in the case of these Asus ones).

Even though, you will face an other problem: ventilation of the VGAs. You may want to have at least one slot distance between your VGA's... I know, the HAF-X is a very good case regarding the airflow, but for these two beasts (Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP) may not be enough...

I'm not saying that placing two of these cards on your mobo won't work, just providing them efficient cooling is close to impossible. Besides, I doubt that the sound card would fit (these Asus cards are very wide)...

So, you may want to choose different VGAs.

Personally, I would not even put two double slot wide VGAs on that mobo together with the sound card (because of the very same reason: hard to cool them), but is your choice! Right now you have a similar setup, with two dual slots. Are you satisfied with their temps?

No, thats no prob, u dont need a slot free in between, just use some small spacers, and it will work out great... Just so the fans dont hook into the neighbor card. The temps is no prob..

The sound card, i have no idea about..

Here are some of my old gpu's, as u can see its tight, and these cards in particular was not so (tight). Had to use larger spacer's then with other gpu's i used.. The air circulation is no prob, neither are the temps. When used in a haf X.. This is a X, by the way...

if NOT using spacers, the fan's are bound to crash into the neighbor, with possible damage of the fan blades.

Not with all cards, but with many, with dual fans..

I repeat: "I'm not saying that placing two of these cards on your mobo won't work..." - I know, I'm too picky about temps, have too high expectations...

Don't forget, those Asus cards suck air from bottom (in a tower case) and exhausts mainly on their side. Because of their design, I found that the best setup for the side vent (the HAF-X also has) is as exhaust (again, because of the mainly sidewise exhaust of the cards). So, having the side case fan as exhaust, and the two Asus cards to close, it may affect their temps beyond my limits...

But, it's up to Pyro to decide (or anyone else, who wants two of these cards)!

BTW, nice look, grottslampan! Just would mention that Twin Fozers are exhausting mainly in the back vs Asus cards exhausting mainly on the side... (not 100% sure in all models, but all which I tried).

As I looked more into it, I figured out that there is only one way I would be able to set up those cards which will then result in me loosing my sound card in the process. Now as far as my current build and temperatures I have never had a problem at all. Currently on my graphics cards I have an exhaust fan that goes over the front and blows air across them to the back. It was included in my HAF-X. It helps keep them even cooler. As far as my sound card I haven't ever had an issue whats so ever with any heat from it. So now i'm looking at getting the EVGA GTX-680 Superclocked+(Dual Slot). I know there not as insane and amazing as the Asus one but atleast it will fit without much hassle or losing my sound card.
