So i just figured out something, I had the sound virtualiser on for speakers and headphone, i only use headphone, when I took it off for speaker and left it on for headphone the game (mw3) we get supper lagggy after about 10 min, I enabled it again for speaker and no problems.

you have to have it on for both even if you only use one.

So anyone playing max payne 3? I had my forte back in waiting for my replacement phoebus to arrive (got it this morning) was having a great time, then I installed my new phoebus and have no sound and the game constantly crashes. I know it's a buggy game but the only thing I changed was the soundcard. Could the drivers really be that bad?
has anyone else had these issues? I'm currently running win7 in raid 0 and a clean install on another SSd I have. It's impossible it's any program conflicts as the non raid drive only has video, audio and board chipset drivers installed and no other app or programs, not even an anti virus installed. Same results on both. I uninstalled the phoebus, put my forte back in and sound works fine and no crashes. WTF is going on with this thing??? Even a completely bare bones clean install doesn't fix anything.
    urgh.....

I played through the entire game in one go without experiencing any problems actually. Uninstalling dolby theater has solved most of my problems or reduced crash frequency immensely.

I haven't heard a word from ASUS now, if they asume hardware or a driver problem?! No comment at all. A lot of gamers which trust in ASUS bought the phoebus... expecting a great experience...
What we see now is the same which I expect from Gigabyte, unfinished grappy products and no customer care...

Shame on you ASUS... would I say, but I assume there was a hidden hostile takeover meanwhile from Gigabyte and we are the first one's which mentioned that....

If you check the FAQ doc there has been official response from ASUS. Just no ETA yet.

I posted a response in another thread from Asus ROG (facebook) where they said they were working on it. They just don't have an ETA yet (I hope it comes sooner than later - nursing a broken foot and I have time to game!) ...

Thx for the informations, excuse my polemic... it is getting frustrating after a while. I'm still convinced it is a real good piece of hardware. (for the ten to twenty minutes it works ingame it sounds great in dolby...).

@Masterx: ... does it work with these settings?
