HE confirms the problem stems from the unofficial punkbuster add on used by some games .

And that "All Xonar products have been tested through rigorous games compatibility tests before debut" ,which seem odd given BF and COD are two of the most popular game franchises world wide .

Asus should be offering a fix/patch in a few weeks ,which is nice .

I look forward too using my card as someone intended hopfully soon and it was nice to get a reply to my questions.

Im just a bit dissapointed with your marketing on this one .
Good news but it's deplorable that we need to wait a long time to have a answer from asus.
it's funny because an audio card at 10€ is working perfectly with bf3 and mw3 ....

The really funny thing is, the card works with those games as well, just not on the Punkbuster servers.

    Punkbuster works perfectly. Why?
The sound of Phoebus is already a cheat!
    Best sound of the mountains!
Your enemies are the victims! This is a cheat!

Man, that update couldn't come soon enough. As a competitive BF3 gamer i can't wait to put the $200 i invested in Phoebus to use.

To the guys who have snapping Phoebus's take a look at my link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM_2kMMew-w
Is that what you are getting also, though it's more crisp in person. This video was when I first got my phoebus and that card ended up dead. My new one also makes the same noise. the snapping is at 4 seconds on powering off my PC (there is also the noise of the board fans shutting down) and at 1:04 when windows hit the log in screen. I can hear it through a closed case so it's fairly loud. The fans in my case are all running 100% until It actually boots into windows.

They all do that, and it's already been explained(relays for the amp if I remember correctly). It has absolutely nothing to do with the crappy drivers causing systems to crash.

I know it has nothing to do with drivers, Mason@Asus said he could not reproduce it on his system and asked me to upload my vid, I wanted to make sure that is the same thing that everyone else is hearing. And not everyone is getting it, on overclockers.net there is a big thread and only a few have the snapping, most of the people's on the thread anyway, don't make a peep.

You should really read the FAQ carefully. That's the anti-pop relay...
