    memory suggestions please

    Ello folks,
    just after a bit of info please. Im planning on swapping out my memory as i have to build my daughter a pc for which she will get my memory. so i'll need some for my CH5 but im not having much look finding some when googling model numbers off the QVL.
    i dont really need more than 8GB but would like to fill all slots. not a must though. would i be better off buying 4x2gb or 2x4gb? 1600MHz
    i dont have corsair dominator money lol so thought Corsair vengance is the way to go as it seems pretty popular. whenever i search the model numbers i can only find vengance blue's

    i also came across a thread about the patriot G2 series ram for amd boards and have emailed patriot to find sellers.

    so basically what im asking is for suggestions/links to some kits that r known to work well on this board. i looked at the thread for compatibles but it seems they are all using the same ram near enough.
    sorry to be a pain in the ass. im not being lazy by asking here its just im at a total loss when it coems to memory and ive spent that much time lookin all the numbers are all lookin the same now lol.
    any help/suggestions will be much apreciated. thanks in advance folks

    Edit: the email address given for patriot g2 memory doesnt work and i cant find anywhere on google that stocks it.

    what sort of mhz are you after?
    mabye 2 x 4 gig chips are ok.
    if you buy, buy packs of 2 or 4 not single chips.
    i run 4x4gig vengance. just google the number of the chips . ( 16 gig -> CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 )
    heres for amd platform -> http://www.corsair.com/memory/amd-memory-upgrades.html
    this is all in usd prices.
    heres a uk site -> http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-%...4-xmp-dhx-165v

    You would be better of with two sticks rather than 4. The greater number of sticks adds tot he total work that the on board memory controller has to do, more so than the the total amount of ram capacity.

    Gskill have been getting some nice numbers with the CHV boards and I am not even talking the expensive kits. RipjawX for example will be good to go.

    Is this specifically related to the CHVF or any mobo in general?

    It's not Board related but AMD CPU's in general. There have been several discussions here about how the Memory Controller inside the AMD CPU is weak and your better running only 2 sticks and not 4.

    I hope this has helped.

    Thanks for the light. It's fun when you're getting old and learning...
