i own a g75, g74, and g73, (although i consider the g74 my gf's, i havent got to use it much since i bought it) anyways the audio is the fullest & best quality imo on the g73. i dont k ow what an n71 is, but the audio on the g75, as long as the speakers are at the same level as the sub (if you can call something that tiny a subwoofer) is pretty decent imo. the thing is, it seems like there is a crossover which the two main speakers are there mainly for high freq, like tweeters, while the sub handles all the low freq. i havent taken it apart or anything tho, so thats my best guess. the g73 on the other hand has full range speakers and a sub, it is one of the nicest audio systems on a laptop that ive seen.

Btw if you are going to go with another brand i would not reccommend dell or toshiba, as the qosmio and the xps are both garbage, for gaming at least. if you want something on par with asus' G series, go with msi or sager.

    Anyone else have this problem...

You tap your power button to put your G75 in sleep mode for the night, and when you wake up the next day and bring it back to life, you only have sound out of the right-side speaker? Anyone else experiencing that?

Unplugging the speakers and plugging them back in fixes it for me, but ... who wants to do that Every Single Day?

When adjusting the audio please try to use the VIA audio deck not Windows sound devices as the software syncs up the speakers to the sub.

when im adjusting volume via audio deck, it only controls the reg speakers, i have to manually adjust the sub.. kinda annoyed by this. so im just turning it off untill they fix this issue.

    Waiting for the fix...

Please, fix the subwoofer cutoff frequency problem! It's really, really sad that my G75, even having a subwoofer, can't achieve the sound quality of my old G53s (probably thanks to the Realtek audio codec and the THX software in the G53). It's the only complaint I have with this great lap (G75), although not a minor one, because as many other owners the audio is important for me.

    P.S. Sorry for the english...

    Same issue

    Hello,

I just wanted to say I'm having the same problem with the audio playing while the headphone jack is plugged in. It will work fine for the first few minutes, then it will play through the speakers and headphones at the same time. I work in a very quiet environment, this is incredibly problematic.

I'm using the latest drivers from ASUSTeK website, Version V6.0.01.10400, 2012.04.25 update. Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on G75VW.

I read earlier in the thread that there were problems reproducing the error, but it happens with regularity on my laptop. I love this machine so far, but this can be a big problem at times.

When there is a fix, please let us know!

I'm also experiencing random sound issues when using headphones where the audio suddenly stutters really bad. It's like some kind of massive CPU spike.
