Thread: Need help tearing apart my G75

Need help tearing apart my G75

I bought the Best Buy version of the G75 with the hopes of upgrading to a SSD (boot & Games), and also the RAM. I got my 120GB SSD installed with the 1 TB for files and whatnot. I also just recieved my Corsair Vengeance RAM in the mail.

I ordered 4 sticks of 4GB. I can easily install 2 of the sticks on the underside but would like to replace all of the sticks so they are all the same and not running at different speeds and whatnot. I removed all of the A & B screws on the underside of the case and the plastic was not picking up. I did not tug too hard since i did not want to break any pegs or anything like that . I realize that removing the plastic will void the warranty. That does not bother me.

IS there any step by step instructions or videos explaining how to remove the back piece and keyboard so i can install the 8GB or RAM underneither the keyboard?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like you have 4 sticks of 4 gb each 1600? The machine already has 2 sticks of 1600 4 gb under the keyboard and they run just fine. My machine after upgrading ( samsung went in 2 x 4 gb 1600 ) shows win 7 memory rating of 7.9 ...

Looks like you were given the steps but me personally I would just stick as is and sell off the last 2 ...

Depends on the retailer sometimes. Check before purchase.

You need to remove EVERY screw including the ODD drive and the screws in the ODD bay as well. Then the keyboard and wrist-rest separates from the bottom.

I believe the Corsair Vengeance is 1866 Mhz not 1600. I could be wrong though.
