Thread: Rampage IV Gene restart loop on first power up.

  1. #1

Rampage IV Gene restart loop on first power up.

I have an Intel X79 3930 in it.
One stick of Corsair 4gb 1600mhz Ram.
A Nvidia GTX 260 that I know for 100% sure works hooked to a monitor I know works.
No disk drives or hard drives even plunged in yet. Power supply is an 800 watt Xtream gear I know works as well.
I cannot get to post, I get no video signal, pressing the start button on motherboard has it try to boot, runs through a ton of codes on the display, stops at 01 turns off and starts up again after a few seconds. I have tried moving the ram around, changing ram sticks, hitting the reset cmos button, no dice. Any help would be appreciated.

I would reset the Bios. Flash using Bios Flashback to latest Bios using USB stick fat formatted. Reset Bios again with CPU out of the socket and battery removed. Rebuild, making sure you dont overtighten the PU cooler. Make sure all PSU connections are made including the 8 pin behind the CPU socket, then try again with one stick furthest socket from CPU and if possible with a different type of RAM.

Post back how you go. 01 often means the IMC cant meet frequency set but this is probably not the case at 1600mhz, well it should not be.

Have you taken the CPU out and reseated it...checked the socket to see if all the pins are lined up correctly?

What is the exact model of RAM?

A friend with more experience came over and removed the processor, inspected, and reseated it, he assures me everything is hooked up properly, no idea why it isn't working.
