So i have build my pc and when it starts it just turns on and on the debug leds its says "F2", then the pc turns off and on again. Do i need to plug in a usb stick (that one i flashed with) into the pc and then start it?

i have the same problem, i didnt flash the bios but i do have the same problem with the F2 and restarts.
how can i reflash the bios if i dont have a sandy bridge cpu and it does not post with ivy bridge?
what are my options here?

and i am putting a new computer togather and im putting a core i7 3770k on my maximus gene-z/gen3 it supports 22nm. since thats my only cpu i have for this setup can i update the bios before installing windows. otherwise it says it wont work untill bios update and i dont have a 2nd gen cpu to put in it to make it work right out of the box. ya kno. sorry kinda hard to word this question. my bios is 4202.. please replly

there ist so far no problem with compatibility because my bios is up to date.

but everytime i start the computer, it gives one long and three short tones (post code).. i got my eyes on the led codes and everything seems to be ok. but why those tones ?!?!

Hi there i hv got a question !

I've installed the new Ivy Bridge 3770k cpu on my MIVE-Z.So fargot no problem with compatibility because my bios is 3510 a latest one.

But my problem is, everytime i start the computer, it gives one long beep and follow three beep short tone and everything seems to be ok.Windows is running ok GPU running ok with a latest driver and RAM Memtest got no problem but why tone is always beeping?

My systems is:

MIVE-Z
3770K
Corsair SSD Force Series 60GB
WD CB 1TB
8GB Dominator 1600Mhz CL8 4X2GB
Gigabyte GTX680 OC Version 2GB

If your system works fine, why do you think there is anything wrong? So there are some beep codes? One and three is to do with the VGA. But as you asay it is working just fine.

To the other folks who have a Ivy CPU and a ROG P68 mobo. You can as you know blind flash. There is a guide to blind flash in your user manual.

For those with Gene boards (not sure it allows you to blind flash will look in my book) you do have another option. It is possible to buy a preflashed BIOS chip from either ASUS directly or via Ebay. Many folks have done this and the Ebay option is way cheaper.
