G53sx-A1thermal problem

i have bought my laptop on last October and one of the most properties i liked about it that it was quiet and "cool"
After few months i noticed that the device becomes hotter and i always feel the keyboard and touch pad are hot that my fingers start sweating .. i noticed that the turbo boost reaches 2.72 and stays fixed on the high performance and entertainment mode even when i closed all the working applications and programs!
i think my laptop has lost one of the most important reasons that i got it for and it is to be cool all the time
i wish i could have expressed my problem well and to find a solution for it

What programs are you running in the background? Any virus scans or anything?

Those temps are good for being under load but very high for idle.

Have you messed with any power settings or used the program ThrottleStop?

i am installing kaspersky anti-virus 12.0.0.374
the programs running in the background are (Skype - Yahoo messenger - Internet download manager - Asus WebStorage - Wireless Cosole 3 - Asus Live Update )
Unfortunately i got those temps after i closed all the running programs and most of the applications
I didn't make any changes within the power settings, also i have never used the program ThrottleStop

I am afraid that there may be an update that makes the turbo boost keeps on 2.72!
This problem forces me to use the quiet office mode that doesn't give me the required performance while i am using programs like Autodesk Inventor or Matlab or even while playing tough games

I also have a g53 and the gpu temperature seems to be normal (mine is around 46-50 on idle), but the cpu temp is way too high.
What power plan are you using? When you use high performance, I think it keeps the cpu at a higher clock all the time (thus higher temperature)
Try putting it on power saver and check the temps while you're not doing anything on the laptop.

It could also be that a lot of dust has accumulated inside your vents, it's always worth checking that out.

No, one of your programs is gobbling CPU--and it is single-threaded (the program that is). As long the CPU stays within the thermal envelope, the CPU will run between 2.6 and 3.0 GHz (depending on model). Try exiting all your programs that you listed, let the system sit for 1/2 hour, and see what temps you get then. On "High-Performance" at idle, I get 44 C, and 40-42 C on "quiet office". It may be that your fans are clogged with dirt, which will cause the problems you mentioned.

i did this test again after closing all the programs, the GPU was about 52-56 on " High Performance - idle case "
it may be the fans are clogged with dirt as you said, Do i have to go to a specialist to clean it or there is a way i can do it myself ?

I also had a few problems with the temperature, as you can read in this thread http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...3dmark-vantage and someone suggested cleaning the vents. There are also some pictures. The disassembly isn't easy and you basically have to take apart the whole laptop (with screen), but it might be worth the shot. Some people really found a lot of dust accumulated, although in my case there wasn't any. There's a good video on youtube showing the disassembly.

What is strange, is that your gpu temps seem normal, so if the vents were blocked both your gpu and cpu would be too high. It seems unlikely that dust only builds up on one of the two vents (the left one is cpu, right gpu)
