Exclamation G74Sx im HOT! (nVidia new drivers 301.24)

    Hello,

After I installed latest nvidia drivers for my 560m I notice that after playing 1 -2h diablo 3 I can cook after on my laptop. Laptop get very hot at numlock keyboard(I suppose there is video chip). Even when im not play, just browsing web or do normal think where I do not need video card much it’s still stay hot Im starting get worried if video card can burn out, because 2 days ago after I finished playing diablo (2h) in 10 min laptop shut down automatically in security reasons I suppose(to cool down)

What should I do? Wait till nvidea release fix for drivers?

That doesn't sound good - and you are correct, it is the GPU. I recommend monitoring GPU temperatures with HWINFO64, GPU-z, or Speedfan. I'd also probably attempt to blow out the fan exhausts with compressed gas and backrev to the previous video driver (maybe using Windows System Restore) if temperatures remain abnormal.

Have you tried the 296.16 Driver that came out recently to see if it still runs hot?

296.16 is horrible..... for me crashed like 5 times in a few hours after installing, spiking temps, etc... and others had similar issues...... been using and went back to using 295.73 and it has never crashed once...

Drivers varies, especially with the GPU, try it and see what works, but overall 295.73 works great

same here, 295.73 works the best so far, tried beta and others, nothing works like 295.73 at the moment.

temp is steady and no spikes
