okay 24 g of ram is recognized! lol I guess I didnt need all that RAM but the only game I play is FSX flight sim so the extra ram isnt going to hurt.

So while Im on a roll, whats the best way to increase my storage space without deleting any files they are all required. I use cc cleaner daily and have deleted everything except essentials for the flight sim.

The best way to increase the storage capacity is to drop in more storage drives

Now, assuming that 111GB is occupied on your 128GB SSD, that is wrong! Don't fill up an SSD more than 50-60% because it will decrease it's spedd, and over longer time practically will kill the SSD too.

Here is a link about how to optimize Windows on the SSD: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/s...-for-ssds-hdds I know, it's about installation, but there are suggestions what to do after that too - just post back if you have questions!

okay I was able to swap the corsair ram for a shiny new vertex 4 SSD.

I can see the original ssd in the bracket. Now how do I connect this lol. I can see myself paying some one to do it which is not expensive here in Bangkok but then I wouldn't learn anything

    any one care to advise?

Congrats on your second SSD purchase , I still have to buy one myself .

To connect it, you need a SATA power cable and a SATA data cable. There should be a SATA power coming from your power suppy. A SATA data cable should have come with the SSD itself. It connects to the SSD and a SATA port on your motherboard. If you dont know what it is or looks like, let us know what motherboard model you have and I can point it out to you with a picture. They're similar in looks - the power one is slightly bigger. Switch off your PC and take the cables out of your existing SSD. That'll give you an idea of what they look like and how they fit on it.

Sorry for the double post but the save button doesn't appear to work on my iphone when I try to edit my post.I just realised there will be a SATA cable connecting the existing SSD to the motherboard. There will be more SATA ports around this area.

    thanks xeyui

I am really surprised that it didn't come with any cables. It does have a bracket and screws and I have extra cables supplied after the rig was built and have found 2 that fit the pins on the SSD and now I have to find where they go

There doesnt seem to be much on you tube regarding a second ssd installation

    Photobucket

Where the blue arrow is pointing is where you will want to connect one end of the SATA data cable, preferably a red port as they are 6 Gb/s whereas the black ones are 3Gb/s. As for placing the SSD in the case, you can pretty much put it anywhere.

ssd drives comes whit out cables, you have to use the ones that did come whit the motherboard or buy new ones.
the bracket is there to fit it in a 3.5" hdd space/slot in the case since there are no/or may not be 2.5" hdd/ssd slot/bay.

So, what is your memory now? The original GSkills?

How big is this new SSD (what is it's capacity)? Are you planning to change the other one and re-install the Windows? I'm asking because putting in this new SSD won't help in the overloading of the first one... You still need to free up space on the first one!
