Virtu MVP on Z68?

Is ASUS going to backport Virtu MVP support to their Z68 mobos? Given that they support Ivy Bridge CPUs through BIOS updates (with an update having only just been released for my P8Z68-V Pro) it'd make a bit of sense as Lucid's website even says that Virtu MVP is designed for Z68 boards (see http://www.lucidlogix.com/product-virtu-mvp.html).

In other words, if the only boards supporting Virtu MVP are Z77 boards, Lucid's website is running false advertising.

I'm not sure I undersatand the conclusion of false advertising. Virtu MVP supports the Z68 platform. It is up to the motherboard manufacturers to pay the licensing fee to use Virtu MVP on the platform.

By looking at the list of Virtu MVP motherboards you can see that 99% of them are Ivy Bridge chipsets (there's one H61 board and one AMD board in that list).

This brings me to the conclusion that Virtu MVP was meant for Z68 but it was delayed specifically for Ivy Bridge (Z77/H77).

Lucid charges a fee for any board the tech is used upon. The board vendor HAS to pay that fee before the tech can be used. The older boards do not have the requisite license and it will not be added to the repertoire of function of older boards by us at this point as far as I am aware.

Lucid are free to market the tech as working any way they like, BUT the board vendor must pay the fee to use the software. So there's nothing underhand going on here at all.


All that list shows is which boards have a license, it is not a list discussing or showing how Virtu interacts with the onboard chipset, CPU, or a discussion of which other chipsets could support the tech if the license were to be paid.
