Thread: Matrix 580 not detected

    Matrix 580 not detected

    Hi,

While using GPUTweak, I pressed on profile #1 button (on the lower section of GPUTweak). My computer rebooted instantly and since then my Matrix 580 isn't detected by windows, and I can't get an image while booting. It's like if it was dead, but physically it looks ok (lights and fans are on).

I never configured the overclocking profile, so I don't know what settings were on that first profile (my mistake to click on it..). My second card (i use SLI) is a gigabyte 580 and still works fine.

I tried to use the safe button (holding it until i get to windows), but the side led doesn't light up like I read it should. When I get to windows, the card isn't detected so GPU Tweak doens't try to reset the Bios.

Is there any other way to get the default settings back? Am I using the safe button correctly? Any tests I should do to verify if the card is still functionnal?

    Thank you!

Are you using the 300 series drivers? There's documented issues with the MATRIX 580 and the VGA team are currently looking into it.

Could a driver prevent my card from sending a signal to the screen (can't see "post") and from being detected in Windows?

do you have both the power lines connected and are both lights green? Just in case its a power issue. I had problems with post as i had both hdmi and dvi cable connected, removed dvi and output appeared through hdmi.

Most likely a power issue though if no post.

I even use nvflash and my card isn't listed when i use "nvflash --list".

The two power lights are lighted up.

Can you give me a bit more information, whats the psu rating? Whats the mainboard and are there any other graphics cards on the system?

Are there any beeps when you power up?

I tried the card in another system and i have the same problem. There are no beeps when i start the system.

The power supply is a Corsair 750 watt it's the same i used to test in another computer because I didn't have one with enough connectors to powerup the card. But a Gigabyte 580 works fine with that powersupply so I guess it isn't the problem.

I'll try to see if the warranty covers this kind of problem.

What does the serial number looks like? I can't find it by looking at the 2 stickers on the card. I don't have the box anymore.

Sorry just re-read your first post. Unless you hit 'apply' on that profile it won't have done anything just clicking the profile setting alone. Sounds like something popped and you need an RMA

For an RMA, I need to find the serial number on the card, and I can't find it.

    What does it look like?
