    ROG Teasers: Computex 2012

    http://rog.asus.com/113612012/news/r...computex-2012/

The annual event of Computex 2012 gets underway next week, here in Taipei, Taiwan. Make sure you set your calendars for Tuesday 5th June, for ROG’s Press Conference!

Worldwide media will be there so you’ll get all the announcements and new product launches on your favorite tech enthusiast website, as well as right here on ROG site, and our ROG Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ASUSROG.

Before that, though, we’ve got a few teasers for you to scratch your chins at for a few days. What’s new do you think? Let us know your guesses in the forums!

This is only a taster of our new hardware. We’re keeping the rest of it super-secret until next week, so keep watching!

i'm gonna go ahead and say the 1st looks like that new cooling solution that comes included with the Formula/Extreme editions of the Max V.
The 2nd, I cannot make heads nor tails of at all...though the middle right of the image, looks it includes some kind of in-built tester that can be hooked up to a multimeter, voltmeter...or maybe it has something to do with OC'ing.
The 3rd, I would say by my 1st instinct that it is some kind of Amplifier...but, I think that "Amp" is there to throw us off the scent lol.

BTW, they better be planning on releasing an mATX CHV at Computex lol and you guys had been sworn to secrecy about it ...ok, so maybe not, but hey....I can wish for what I want

The first looks like a tease of the Maximus V Formula. The second could be an external hardware monitor maybe? The third seems to be a headphone AMP. The AMP looks interesting, I think the ports on the hybrid water block should have been G 1/4 threaded instead of fixed 1/4" barbs.

It actually looks like you can remove two separate black pieces of metal/plastic around the fittings. So perhaps the fittings are G1/4 and can actually be replaced with proper compression fittings? One can only hope.

Pic 2 could be a watercooled graphics card? Would make sense together with this mobo!

Pic 3 looks like the headphone amplifier

no its not, the 1/4 fittings are fused to the pipe that goes inside the cooler
i did post a vid on it some time back.

Can't really see the the fittings fused to the pipe in that video. You can only see the very top of the fittings.
    But you're probably right anyway.

Even if you could remove the barbs they have in place there wouldn't be enough space available to mount a G1/4 part to replace them. It seems silly but it would over complicate any water cooled setup having to move to smaller then larger barbs in your system, and you can forget about it having a "clean" look when you're done. I suppose you could use 1/4 tubing throughout, but barb selection isn't as good, and it's a noticeably performance hit using tubing that small.

Looking at some of these other ideas, number 2 being a graphics card could be interesting.

Actually I think it is very possible that number 2 is a gtx 680 MARS card....IIRC the 580 MARS had the same fan max Speed button, for when you just want it running at full speeds. Or it could be an Asus ROG Matrix 680? Either way, very exciting!

I'm really hoping that number 3 isn't a thing I've been wanting for ages, but couldn't find so resolved to start designing and building myself... if it is, business opportunity out the window, but something I've wanted for a while would be within reach... silver linings I guess

I agree with the both of you on the first. For the second, it looks like a graphics cards with a back plate on it. For the third, you got me. Looks like it could be an amp. Or some kind of energy pill bottle - ha!
