is my read and write hhd normal on my borad?

    hi
so i got my new motherbord up and running spend two week trying things outs and stuff mosty try to figer out how to get intel SRT running and later found out it not supported on x79 rampage 4 gene matx borad lol. and yes i went out and got 60 gb ssd since it was on sale, anyway i have western digital black caveir 1 tb 64mb harddrive and i think it supports 6 gb per second ports on my bord. now i did tr crystal disk mark test and found out i got 86.mb on read and 68 mb on write. and i did install the intel chipset that came with my motherbord. is that normel or should numbers be higher?

sata ports like 2 red 6gb asmedia ports then 2 red 6gb intel x79 ports then 2 back intel 3gb ports. i have hook up 6 gb cable with harddrive to intel x79 6gb port 1 of 2 and enable port & install the driver. i look in manual on layout for ports. i should be hook up in right port.

They aren't great results but not so far removed from what they should be. Is the drive brand new? The RSTe drivers are for X79 but for SSD the microsoft AHCI drivers work great and are less buggy.

There's really no "bugs" in the Intel drivers at all.
Some users just don't like "scsi" appended to their device names.
Certainly not a bug at all.

They don't like it because they know SCSI does not pass the TRIM command and doubt therefore that TRIM is working with any current windows OS. They also don't like smart data not being passed, drives dropping in and out as if hot-plugged, drives showing up as in RAID when they are in AHCI.....

Hey maybe bugs to me are features to Intel

To OP sounds like you have everything set up OK and probably are getting correct real world performance. But you could try a new SATA cable and change driver.
