Video editing with more vram is way better for faster encoding, I'd buy it in a heart beat.

i just went ahead and got the evga 670 4gb. But i definitely need 2 to play bf3 and some other games on max settings(gpu power wize). And as suspected at max settings, vram surpassed 2gb easy on alot of maps. Aswell in skyrim, with only the high-res texture standard pack. Also helps with leaky software to get a chance to correct itself before impacting game performance. At a point it had almost eaten all the 4gb before it self-corrected. So definitely a worthwhile investment.

i got the TOP. It plays all games on ultra no problemo. Arma 2 is awesome with this card. OC's to over 1200mhz too.

    i'm happy with it anyway.

@rhozac - your sig says your 3960x is running stock?

Aye but your on a 27" screen, higher the rez more vram is needed. And think about the next games that are coming out with new graphics engines. Your locked at a total 2gb vram, SLI wont help you with your vram. That's majorly why its a better buy.
. Yeah im running stock on cpu for the time being. My h100 is preforming poorly so ill just wait with the 5ghz overclock till i get real wc.

I'm another Asus lover that has been forced to buy non-Asus gfx cards. I got 2xPalit 4gb 680's recently. It sucks that there is no 4gb Asus version. And where is the 8gb fabled Matrix 690 ?

In the last 5 years, all of my gfx cards up to my 480's have been Asus models, but my 580's and 680's have been other vendors.

In BF3 with all settings up on ultra (except for AA) - on a triple screen 5760x1080 resolution, i was hitting 2.3gb of vram usage. 2gb on the cards is just not enough.

Come on Asus, sort it out!

I agree, I have a Palit 4gb at the moment, and still waiting for EK to sort the waterblock. If Asus released a 4gb DCU2 and the EK block fitted, i'd buy 2 straight away. I've seen 2.7gb max usage when gaming on my 30" with full AA, next years games will definitely make use of the larger VRAM in my opinion.

I'd buy a 4GB Top model. Hell, I'd sell the two 2GB Top models I have now and buy three 4GB Tops.

    4GB 2 Slot

Seems it took quite a bit of poking, but it seems now Asus released the 2 slot 4GB 680. Took quite a bit of time, sadly with the 7 series right down the road, but the suggestions helped. Great input and concerns all!

Shame it doesn't have any factory overclock or VGA hotwire. If it did, I would have sold my palit for 2 of these
