Overclocking the G75

I would like to know wiith a i7-3820QM core cpu what are the limits for overclocking the cpu and gpu before it melts or does any real damage to the mobo.

It's not possible outside the 55W Extreme Editions. You can tweak the baseclock literally a few percent if you get BIOS-level access (somehow), but with the tight TDP control on mobile parts it probably won't do much.

With some software you can OC the GPU a bit - there are threads here about that.

Cool thank you for the info marshall. oh man $1k bucks for an extreme edition core. ill just keep that cash and build a Desktop 🙂 and when the time comes ill just look into getting more ram. one more question for ya marshall, do you know if asus will release the gtx 680m for the new G series notebooks anytime soon ?

Here's a reference to a post discussing overclocking the 560M: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?13015-I-am-not-a-Gamer&p=94806&viewfull=1#post94806. I suspect it would apply to overclocking the G75's GPU as well.
