I would be more inclined to RMA the SSD's based on the checkdisc loop you seem to be in.

Reflash your BIOS please I wonder if there is some corruption in the microcode, and if possible change your SATA connectors.

And if all fails again then yeah RMA the motherboard you have nothing to loose I guess. Is certainly a strange one

    ? SSD ?

I don't have SSD's, I have 2 previously used HDD. 1 user, not too many hours on them. rma is not an option for the hard drives...replacement is though i suppose...more $$$ though.

    reflashing bios now

    EDIT #1
I downloaded the BIOS 1402, unzipped it to my flash drive and ran EZ FLASH 2...when I try to load the ROM file is says "Selected file is not a EFI BIOS!" and then won't let me read it.

    EDIT #2
formatted flash drive FAT32 and it read the ROM...will update on install soon

well, no good. reflashed bios to 1301
    reinstalled WIN7 on RAID0
got an error during "Windeploy.exe is unable to start 0xc0000005"
rebooted, now I'm stuck at a black screen with a white mouse.

    i'm going to try this:
take out my 2HDD's and use another computer in the house. I want to see if I can create a RAID 0 and install Win7 on these hard drives. that should give a good indication if its the drives or the motherboard, don't you think?

I've had this trouble a couple times and usually to fix it was to install 1 HD at a time and get them formatted with the AHCI setting turned on, then put both into the system and setup the RAID 0. Only a couple times it was a Bad DVD install Disk causing the problem and Microsoft sent me a new one for the price of Shipping.

Also before It slip my mind these Drives are not the Seagate 7200, 500gig's are they? if so you will have to update the Firmware on them...They had a problem with a couple batches.

well, i took the 2 HDD to another computer (took its HDD out and put my 2 in)

    it saw my RAID 0

it installed win7 without any problems using the DVD.

it is in the process of downloading and installing 113 updates, no doubt SP1.

so, this is proof enough for me that my motherboard has some kind of issue.

    i've pm'd Raja@ASUS for help with getting a replacement.
