My dad has the Maximus V Gene mb his cards stopped working to when he updated bio's

so is it due to Gen he's got the gtx680's too would best bet be downgrading bio's. And how would one go about doing this he prob know but maybe others mite not.
Also i have read this a million time's dont update bios if all is working something like that that's best advice i have seen by far as it true on saying.
Also when he opens bios his cards power have dropped is that normal seems its now +8 ???

please keep updated on this as my dad wants some info thank you.

What I would do is the following.

Clear CMOS to reset your Dads motherboard to the factory defaults and power up to OS.
Check the GPUz to see if the 16x lane is now functioning correctly and report back here.
3 series MIVE, MIVG BIOS FLASH GUIDE
RAID GUIDE * Memtest86+ GUIDE * CAP GUIDE * USB BIOS Flahsback GUIDE * Win8 Rampage Install

ONLY IF 2003 BIOS or NEWER
To Flash back to 1xxx.ROM, Rename 1xxx.rom to ERALL.ROM and Use USB Flashback

just wondering if you've had a chance to try and replicate this issue of GEN3 not functioning from a BIOS standpoint?

    GPU-Z is reporting my "Bus Interface as "PCI-E 3.0 x16 @ x8 1.1" when idle but "PCI-E 3.0 x16 @ x8 3.0" when the GPU is loaded up (GTX670).

I'm on 0903 BIOS wise as the version my board shipped with 06 something or other left me with mouse issues every few seconds..

On a side note, maybe not related but I'm also getting coil whine now as well where I wasnt on my old board (Gene III/i7-860) everything is the same bar the board and chip now Gene V and i7 3770..

We looking at drivers or BIOS update?

I had a bit of a poke in the BIOS earlier and now its saying PCI-E 3.0 x16 @ x2 3.0, thing is I cant remember what I changed lol..

My last 4/5 personal builds have all centered around the Asus mATX boards and this is the first one I have every had any issues with, maybe jumping to 1155 and IvyBridge was a tad early?

Sorry, I'm bumping this because I'm still wondering about the follow up and any BIOS testing that can/has/will be done.

The thing about testing is the reproduction or duplication of the symptoms. As yet I have not been able to duplicate. If you have any information that will facilitate me being able to do so please PM me or post here. That way I am able to find out what caused this.
