    Problems with ssd not getting read , wright speeds

    Hi all i just bought a kingston 240gb ssd with a suposed read wright spead of 512/425mb today i tested it and got a shocking result read wright where at 250 ish... Mb so i was only using the 3gb instead of the 6 now i do not now where i went wrong usinf right cable (red. One) inserted in sata6g 1/2 red. So what am i doing wrong any remarksmaybe a bios setting im not a pro at this so forgive my blissness thanks allot for all advice remarks and flames... No pun intended regards thum8er

    It would be extremely helpful if you would share your motherboard's brand and model...

    Also, what software are you using to assess the SSD's speed?

    Its a rampage IV extreme x79 mobo sorry ... Software was (as ssd)

    OK, now if you connected the SSD in the right SATA port, you're using the right cable (be sure that it's a good one) and you set the AHCI mode before you installed the OS - that should be good...

    Do you have the latest BIOS and SATA drivers installed?

    If yes for all of the above, you do have to check that link from my previous post for optimizing the Windows on the SSD. Be sure that you have enough free space on the SSD!

    Whats bugging me is that im getting 3gb/s not 6 as shown in the intel rapid store driver programm...

    Sata 3 cable is black with white clip ends.....might be your problem?
