    Dear Asus/ROG..

This is a call out to Asus. This is a serious request and should be taken seriously.

Asus greatly boast the "Republic of gamers" slogan and is proud of it as they offer great gamer notebooks to the public. While it is true for many, there are also many potential customers, like myself that feel left out by Asus. The later years have shown a bad trend (but perhaps marketing genious?). Its the trend of dilluting the ROG brand with low high end GPUs like 460M and 560M. While they are more than capable GPUs ready to play most modern games, they are not enough to play the games at Ultra settings. Latest G55/G75 have the 660M and the 670M. 660M continues the low high end trend while the 670M is a bad choice since it is based on the hot old Fermi architecture.

Lets get down to the core problem:
Asus compete against many fierce competitors. But unlike Asus, they have all moved up to also satisfy customers like me, who want the best of the best, while STILL offering mid range products like 660M. More choice, more costumers. Alienware, MSI, Samsung, Clevo, they all now offer both 660M AND 7970M plus GTX 680M.
I along with many many others wish that Asus could also move to the same department as the companies mentioned above. While I do get why Asus left AMD and only offer Nvidia cards, there are so many people wanting the GTX 680M inside the upcoming G75. I think Asus should really really consider it since it runs cooler than GTX 580M/675M while is so much better. You get 45%+ performance over 580M/675M but it still doesn`t restrain the great cooling system Asus is known for. I will post proof below.

My point is that you will get more customers, you will still be able to offer products to your mainstream clients since you will offer both 680M and 660M, and most importantly, you will prove that Asus can greatly and wholeheartly put their hands proudly on the "ROG" brand. That is my message, and I hope that the engineers at Asus will atleast consider including GTX 680M in their catalogue.

Here is the reason why GTX 680M will be a perfect match for G75:
Schenker XMG P702 with 675M have these temperatures for the GPU:

    Battlefield 3: 77 °C
    Furmark: 96 °C
Room temperature when this was measured: 22 °C
    Power consumption: 124-218W on load

    Review Clevo P170EM Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews
Schenker XMG P702 with 680M have these temperatures for the GPU:

    Battlefield 3: 70 °C
    Furmark: 85 °C
Room temperature when this was measured: 26 °C
    Power consumption: 106-183W

Test GeForce GTX 680M vs. Radeon HD 7970M - Notebookcheck.com Tests
Its the exact same notebook for both, yet the 680M runs 7-11 °C cooler than 675M. GTX 680M should output the same heat as GTX 670M which Asus already offer in the G-series

How do one get in touch with the engineers at their headquarters in Taiwan?
I have no contact information to get in touch with them.

Yo, okay. I want all of you guys to chip in and donate me a total of $3k-$4k in USD. With that money, I'll buy the next plane ticket to Taiwan, hire a translator, break into ASUS HQ, confront the CEO (or someone w/power), take him hostage, and demand a ransom. Oh, and I might tell them that they should get their act together with high-end GPU's on their premium gaming laptops.

EDIT: Better yet, I'll take MARSHALL as hostage (the whole situation will become a PR nightmare) and then secretly bribe him to become a sleeper mole within the company!

Off topic comments removed. That type of argument really isn't necessary but if it comes up again please make sure to keep it civil. Thanks!

volors: Yeah there are so many people wanting the 680M inside the G75. Today MSI just announced that they will be featuring the 680M inside their GT60/GT70 notebooks. It only have one cooling fan, vs Asus which have two of them.
They both share the same customers, yet MSI is smart, they listen to what the customers want and adapt. So now they offer both 660M/670M/675M and 680M.

I know many people who have been forced to buy from a different company although they love Asus. I just don`t get why Asus refuse to listen to us. They are losing so many customers because of this. Especially now since 680M offer atleast 60% performance over 670M which the G75 feature, and also because heatwise they are the same.
Here is a thread from Notebookreview if anyone is interested in reading more opinions:

    @xeromist:
Can you please forward my first post to Asus headquarters so they can read about how things really are now? I feel that they don`t watch the market enough to see how customers feel. Or atleast msg me an email adress I can send it to myself?
    Thanks

Well my G50 had a 9800, where as my dad's G51 bought one year later has a 260

    I kinda missed the "g52-72" series, but i know the 73 had a 460, 74: 560 and now 75 : 660

The fact they offer the 670 and 675 seems an upgrade...

Though I stuck with the 660 since it was a "true" 6 series.

The 9800 was obviously worlds better than the 9600 :P

It would be like a 680 now vs a 660
