If you disable all the power saving states then those control functions of the CPU which manage how the CPU down clocks when not in use will of course not happen.

I have a similar issue with the dram. I have 16 installed and it's actually posted when looking in the bios but windows and bios only show 12 installed. CPU-Z also shows 16 installed.

I see. I didn't know this, I thought those technologies were independent of each other. I disabled Turbo Boost aswell for now (because I'm on air cooling) so my CPU runs at 3.3GHz now.

Another question, maybe a little off-topic but if I overclock my system by setting the Turbo Boost higher, will voltage be handled automatically then?

Yeah, POST, BIOS and Windows shows 12GB but if I go into SPD info or DIMM POST it shows 4 DIMM's. So I don't know why BIOS tells me I have 12GB. But yeah, CPU-z tells me I have 16GB so I guess I have to live with that.

    I have a similar problem

I got something weird about DIMM slots

    If I put my triple channels G.skill 2Gb. 1333 ripjaw into A1 A2 C1 C2 D1 D2 all will be detected
If I put my Corsair 1866 into A1 B1 C1 D1 it will be show in DIMM post that only A1 B1detected but memory will be 4 Gb. usable that mean only A1
If I put it in A1 A2 and C1 C2 it would be fail to see C slots this hapen to D slots also.

this problem give me a headache so much.
It should be nice if RMA is quick as same as Time you bought it.

Check all the memory modules and all the DIMM slots using Memtest86+ (at BIOS defaults). That way you will know if everything is working or not... If fails, double check the CPU socket pins...

    Yeappp

Found the cause. The silicon was in the CPU pins. Problem solve thanks.

I will do this when I install water cooling. It would also make it easier to test each DIMM individually without having to remove my air cooler every time to get to the DIMM's. But I might aswell prepare for the worst so I ask here, how do I fix a bent socket pin on LGA 2011? Those pins are so tiny I can barely focus on a single pin.

Well, you do need a magnifier glass to fix the socket pins... - at least I need one... I've used one similar with this: http://www.amazon.com/Carson-LM-20-I...1871705&sr=1-3

And you also will need some very fine forceps... or some people are using only a razor blade... - be careful with these as you can easily damage other things too! Best to look at some videos on the youtube before you would start... Or, the really best way is to find someone who did this already...
