just ordered maximus 4 gene-z gen3

hi, i jst ordered a few parts to rebuild my system because my old 680i died and so i have to replace mobo and also upgraded some stuff...anyways seeing that so many issues with this mobo about the ivy bridge cpu on here makes me do advanced rma already even though i havent got it yet.

i bought i5 3450 ivy bridge along with maximus 4 gene-z gen3 and 8gb vengance ram and its coming on thursday..my question is should i even bother opening that mobo and try to update bios? i have no sandy bridge cpu to use it to update so is there other way on flashing bios? if so pls tell me..

also another of my concern i didnt upgrade my 9800gtx+ gpu bcos i thought it would work on the mobo..can anyone tell me now if it would work or not on the mobo so that i can go ahead and buy new one..thanks guys

If the board arrives with a 3 series bios,all's good,if not,your 3450 needs 3203 bios or higher to work.
