Asus G53JW + Samsung 2233RZ

Hello 🙂 I recently bought the G53JW laptop, and i have the Samsung 2233RZ 120 hz monitor from before.

The problem is.. while the laptop has HDMI input the 2233RZ only has DVI-D output, so when i connect the monitor to the laptop with dual-link DVI to HDMI adapter i can't get 120 hz, im only able to choose 60 hz.

Is there any way to get 120 hz @ 1680x1050 work with this setup?

Would it work with for example this? http://sewelldirect.com/hdmi-to-dvi-dual-link-cable-10-ft.asp

Thanks in advance.

for 120hz you need a 1.4hdmi input. i dont think you can convert from hdmi to dvi even for dual link for 120hz bandwidth

Okay thanks 🙂 I know the laptop supports 120hz and 3DTV Play via HDMI 1.4, i was just hoping it would work with DVI through adapter. But i guess can leave that out now 😕
Are there any 22/23/24 inch Gaming-Monitors on the market with HDMI 1.4 support ?

The following screens support HDMI 1.4 according to my search..

Acer HS244HQ

Asus VG236HE

Asus VG236H

Philips 244E1S

Thanks Fredde. The Asus VG236HE looks interesting, but it doesn't say it supports 3D-Vision via HDMI, only with DVI-D. So i assume 120 hz wouldn't work either with HDMI ? considering you need 120hz for 3D.
Im a little confused tbh 😕
