It has no problems running two monitors, the GTX 460M is a powerful card. The port you hook it up to depends on the inputs on your monitor. If it has HDMI, the hook it up that way, since that is an all-digital connection and the quality is higher. Otherwise, use the VGA port. Windows will recognize the second monitor and let you control it from Desktop Settings.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Thanks for the reply. Isit possible to use 2 external monitors instead?

Yes it should be, you hook up the two monitors to the VGA and HDMI ports, and then set the Windows settings to do nothing when you close the lid. That way, the lid can be shut without turning off the computer. Go ahead and try it, nothing bad will happen--barring aliens zapping your computer. 😉

Thanks for the answer Zygomorphic. I was just worried that my laptop could overheat or something. hehe. appreciate your help!

Always glad to help. 🙂 Driving two displays simply runs the video card at full speed...nothing to worry about in the G53. If you really worry, just leave the notebook lid open...probably a good idea. The G53 gets its air supply through the speaker grille, which would be covered when the lid is closed.
