    Phoebus and Linux

    Hello there.

Quite an uncommon question maybe, but have anyone tryed Phoebus under any Linux system? Was going to buy Essence STX, but spoted an auction with a low bid for used Phoebus. And now I'm in doubts.

Would be very gratefull for any piece of information.

P.S. Oh, and yeah, if somebody here has an experience using both STX and Phoebus, feel free to share your opinion about these two cards.

Phoebus is based on new chip CMI8888/DMS/DHT by C-media.
Asus site has no Linux drivers for it.
I believe there is no simple way to make it work in any Linux-based OS.
Even if there will be support by 3rd-party linux drivers, you will never get any Xear sound virtualization or EQ or Dolby.
So, if you 100% linux user, i dont understand why you want to buy Phoebus, as you will not be able to use it`s benefits.
