I've done scans in save mode finding nothing,,, I'm still random memory dumps just sitting idel or copying a movie off my exturnal HD, watching a movie, etc, etc.. What's my next move, Any ideas. When you say does not recognise your SSD you mean the BIOS is not picking it up?

Hi,, I've just done a bios flash again,, first screen shows my ssd.. I go into bios setting, advanced mode under sata it shows my ssd, I have it as ACHI,, Under Boot in the boot order it shows as first, exit save and restart, I get one beep screen stays black, the on board HDD LED stays On, No blinking and board code is AE,, I leave it to do it's thing and I get black screen with a massage reboot and enter boot device etc.. If I restart and go back into bios which takes a long time to come up go into advance mode there is no ssd under sata or in boot order.. I haven't done any clocking been having to many problems to know if I've got a stable over clock..

This is really upsetting, it's just been one thing after the other, If you go threw my different post you'll see how much trouble I've had,,,, I used what little money my old man left me in his will to buy this and it's Just big mistake..

How can I reformat a Sata 2 HDD from my old pc with my new rig and install windows on it to see if I can get my new rig running with it, just to nut out if it is my SSD or my mother board that's had it..

All you guys have been great in trying to help me out and get this pile working and I can't thank you enough.. Thanks Heaps

Hm... interesting... - these days I spent a lot of time with tweaking my rig, and I found that if I get too high with the frequencies (CPU), will get a BSOD code related to drivers... reading more about it, turned out that it's my antivirus software (McAfee)...

So, based on these, I'm wondering if you're OC'ing?

Regarding your SSD, it could be the same driver issue... - if you're OC'ing. An other idea is, your BIOS may been reset to defaults and messed up the HDD settings...

Hey mate - we will sort this together I am sure.

Here is what I think we need to do. Start from scratch. Yeah as odd as that sounds I really think we need to do that now. So literally take everything out of your system and that includes your water cooling.

Once you have done the disassembly part please follow each of the steps I have laid out. And please do them in the order I have listed. Yeah I know I am anal about stuff but when you are problem solving you sort of need to be very methodical and no short cuts.

    1. Remove the CPU from the socket
    2. Inspect the socket for bent or misaligned pins
    3. Visually inspect the motherboard for any scratches or marks on the PCB
    4. Visually check your PSU connectors to ensure that the little metal pins in the connectors have not shifted
    5. Visually inspect each of your SATA ports for contaminate, it is easy for dust or dirt to get into one and mess up stuff
    6. Visually inspect your DDR3 dimm slots if there is tm or dirt inside the slots report back and I will tell you how to clean them
    7. Visually inspect the PCIe slots - same as for the DDR3 dimm slots
    8. One last look at the under side of the motherboard to ensure no scratches or damage are present
    9. Replace all your SATA cables if you can - if not swap them around so that the SSD that is giving your grief has a different cable
    10. Check the Case header wires for cuts and nicks
    11. Place your motherboard ontop of the box it came in
    12. Remove the battery from the motherboard
    13. Press the power button for a slow count of three to remove any residual voltages from the capacitors
    14. Clear CMOS - hold down the toggle or bridge the jumpers for 3 seconds
    15. Leave your motherboard as is over night.
    16. Fit the CPU
    17. Use your Intel cooler for now - mount the cooler
    18. One stick of ram in the furtherest slot from the CPU
    19. Only your SSD that you wish to install OS on
    20. One VGA card
    21. Keyboard
    22. Mouse
    23. Connect the VGA cable to your PC monitor
    24. We are now going to start connecting the power cables. Please do so in this order
    25. SSD, then VGA
    26. 12volt CPU connector
    27. 24 Pin connector
    28. Connect the PSU to the wall
    29. Power up your system
    30. In BIOS F5 and enter
    31. F10 and enter to save and exit
    32. I am assuming you have a USB stick for your OS install. I have posted how to do this quite a few times if not sure just post back and I will explain.
    33. Power on and F8 during the POST process
    34. Do the normal stuff in the Windows OS set up right up to where you are asked to select hard drives
    35. No select the advanced option
    36. Delete both the partitions that should be on your SSD. If there is only one do not worry just delete that
    37. DO NOT FORMAT THE SSD
    38. Now highlight the SSD and select next
    39. Your SSD will now be correctly aligned and formatted by Win7 and be optimised for the install process
    40. Fill in all the stuff when asked during the install process
    41. Once your install is complete do not install anything except the following
    42. Chipset driver
    43. Lan driver
    44. USB drivers
    45. Sound drivers
    46. Create a restore point now.
    47. Power off
    48. Add the rest of yoru hard ware and power up
    49. Download Microsfot Essentials as your AV
    50. Install your prefered VGA driver for your card/s
    51. You are done your system should be perfect now. At stock true but working perfrectly.

I will check back later, your tomorrow to see how it goes.

And . I don't have windows on a usb but have a disc, and when do i replace MB battary. by what i can make out i'm to do a table top build and start is that right. I can't thank you enought for all this, wish you lived down the road not the other side of the world

put the mobo on the case it came in ( antistatic ( some one stated that on the forum in a post ( i can not guarantee that so ) ) )
if the mobo is new the battery should be good ( unless you get default bios every time you restart/start the pc )
to reset the board, take out the battery and push "start button" so it drains the entire board whit "backup power" remaining in the components.( PSU have to be disconnected )
is it posible to test the ssd in the old pc if its operative? ( or a friend that can help you out )
if it works there, format it and update the firmware of the ssd ( or if you have a friend that can help you out on that )
