I am a huge fan of the Microsoft Essentials AV software. So may be a bit biased. Not a huge fan of Microsoft as a rule mind you.

Did you try performing a Secure Erase, & a FW Update (v.1.5) on the Vertex4 ...
    ... & then doing a Fresh Install of Win7 on the V4 SSD ?

    http://www.ocztechnology.com/ssd_too...and_Agility_4/

You can use the OCZ Toolbox - v.3.02.14 - "if" you have Win7 on another drive (not Vert4) that you can boot from ...
... just install the Toolbox on the other Win7 drive, & perform the SE & FW update(s) on the Vert4 from there ...

If you do not have a 2nd Win7 boot drive in the system, you can use the Linux Tools (from OCZ) for the SE & FW update.

... just a thought; might be worth a try ...

fwiw - ditto to MS Security Essentials ...

I don't have either.. And old mate wont let me use his Brand Name still under warranty.... Was thinking of getting a Seagate 1TB Barracuda HDD to get my rig up and going for now,, It's going to take a couple weeks to get my replacement SSD back,, And I cant keep going up to me mates to use his pc couple times a day.. I read some where that I can copy windows over to the SSD later,, Is that true.. OR should I have been running both from the start,, Thanks heaps.

What you can do is make a clone of your OS and then copy that clone to the SSD.

If you are desperate to have a working system just to do stuff, you can boot from a live CD or USB stick. I ran my one OS from a USB for a week while I waited for some parts to arrive.

fwiw - I like to set my systems up as dual boot for just this reason ...
... SSD for the OS & programs / HDD for OS & data ...
... if you run across a problem on one drive/OS, then just boot from the other - will keep you up & running ...

With a single boot SSD set-up, you might want to look into the OCZ Linux Tools v.3.20.4 - very simple really ...
... just create a USB or CD for the Linux Tools, & boot from that - great for Secure Erasing & FW Updates on a SSD single boot system.

... a Secure Erase along with a Fresh Install of the OS on the SSD drive can / has solved allot of issues, for allot of folks ...
Best of Luck with it ...

BTW. It actually sounds like you have a root kit in the boot sector of the SSD.

If you do a secure erase it may remove it.

After you load windows on your new 1TB connect the SSD and run this tool:
