    Fan plugs

Okay while I'm waiting on my bios chip I figured I would do some cable management. I want to attach my 4 case fans to my motherboards chassis fan connectors. Now here is my problem. I can not find and adapter to convert my antec fan plugs to the smaller fan connectors. Anyone know what these are called or where I can get some. Also let me know if I'm posting this in the incorrect section.

You would be looking for some 4 to 3 pin adapters, as this is only a guess probably PWM to 3 pin is what you are after.

Problem is they don't make those type of adapters and what you need is to adapt a 4 pin Molex to a 3 Pin Connector but you'll only have a Red and Black Wire but no wire to tell the speed of the fan...So you'll have to use Duty Mode to set that up.

What is duty mode? I am not worried about monitoring my fan speeds for my chassis fans.

I wish the optional fan headers were controllable from Fan Xpert like the cpu and chassis fans are.

You do not need an adapter. The 4 pin plug is designed to be compatible with the 3 pin version. Just plug them in.

This is somthing that I have wished for also. You can set up the optional fans in the BIOS but I wish fan xpert would control them.

They currently have the larger 4 pin, not the smaller ones. Like the old hard drives use to have.

Oh, OK. I saw Myk's comment about PWM and followed that. Yeah I'm not sure anyone makes a 3 pin fan to 4 pin molex adapter. People would be tempted to run things other than fans on the fan headers with such an adapter and would cause damage. Honestly I would just cut the molex off and put a proper fan plug on the fans. The connector is smaller and you can also use a fan controller if you wanted. And there are plenty of adapters going back to molex if you ever needed to do it that way. You could even sleeve the fans while the connector is off.
