    4xSSDs and sata 3

Hi ROG I hope you can help please

I have four Crucial c300 SSDs which I would like to connect to the Maxus IV via the four sata 3 connectors in raid 0

Question is 2 of the connectors are Intel chipset and 2 are Marvel chipset so can this be done

Also If it can be done can I boot win7 from them ?

You should have all drives in an array running from the same controller. You may also want to read up on the effect RAID has on the TRIM feature. That may make you think twice about SSD RAID.

In other words, you can't run (4) SSDs on RAID on 2 different controllers. But hey, the mobo has 4 SATA 3GB/s ports (gray colored) using an Intel Rapid Tech controller that can run on either RAID 0,1,5 & 10. So you can run RAID using 4 SSDs. But then again the TRIM feature in SSD will let you down as well as the slower SATA ports. You can use a hybrid SSD instead (such as Seagate Momentus XT) or a PCIe SSD (such as OCZ Revodrive). A PCIe SSD will get all that bottleneck.
