    Windows 8 drivers for G75VW?

Will the Win7 x64 drivers work fine in WIndows 8? I was going to dual boot Win8 RP to check it out instead of doing a full format for it. Anyone know if the win7 drivers will work somewhat for Win8? Or if there's a page with Win8 drivers for this notebook somewhere other than the ROG site?

Most will. Someone just PM'd me asking for an update to the keyboard drivers though. As far as I know the official Win8 lot are in testing and we will issue them when Win8 finally goes retail.

No beta drivers though? Really nice to have some beta drivers up though for testing though, but thanks for the response.

The ASUS Drivers page for the G75VW had the Windows 8 Drivers for a while then they pulled it off, I guess they are still doing some testing. But hang in there, they should be released soon

Hi, actually don t change system if you are happy with Win 7. Steam,Blizzard and oder software company are no happy and confident with Win 8: Is better wait one years minimum. MS make a to big marketing to change your OS for only14,90 USD.
    Is to fast to dangerous.

I have tested, and yes, many will just work. Microsoft has finally learned how to keep backwards compatibility. About the only thing that breaks is anti-virus software (as of the developer preview). Go ahead and try, maybe you can send your results to ASUS and they can count it for testing? Help ASUS out!

I've been running Win8 as my main OS on my desktop since the developer preview. I was just wondering about the drivers for the notebook.

Go ahead and partition and install! It will work fine on there! I had the dev preview on my G53SX without problems...the nVidia drivers for Win7 worked on Win8 without a hitch. Probably because it was Windows 6.2 (6.0 = Vista, 6.1 = Seven, 6.2 = Eight).

Smile Intel Management Engine Interface Windows 8

I have just installed Windows 8 on my G75VW notebook. When I install "Chipset_Intel_Win7_64_Z9301020" my Windows 8 install fails and I must revert back to a VSS snapshot before the update. It is a good practice to "snapshot" you OS before doing upgrades like this it seems. Anyway, does someone know of a Beta Version of the package of drivers found in this update? I have in my Device Manager a "unknown icon" or a "icon with a '!' symbol named "PCI Simple Communications Controller". I understand that if I install the Intel Chipset driver for Windows 8, it will clear this issue and also enable the Audio Processing function. Right now, the speakers on the laptop are so low in volume than at the highest volume I can talk over the sound of the speakers. Not a good thing. I believe that the "Intel Chipset driver" will enable the 3-Watt speaker amplifier.
In summary ( boy did this become a book ) where do I find the ASUS Beta driver for the Intel Chipset for WIndows 8. I see on on the Lenovo page, but I dare not mix a different manufactures drivers with this great notebook from Asus. I really like this notebook and what really made the difference is the VG278H monitor. I am just blown away by the performance - I don't do gaming, I use it for CAD/CAM and doing 3D Printing of Industrial Design jobs. I am using Alibre software for the 3D ( currently running in a VM - waiting for Windows 8 / 64-bit support).

Hey Marshall, were you able to give them the Win8 keyboard driver? I'm on Win8 Pro (From MSDNAA/Dreamspark) and I miss my backlight =(
