    CPU Voltage

hi guys, im a little bit confused. i change my cpu from i5-3550 to an i5-3570k. Then i did a turbo boost(auto tuning) on my asus p8h61-m le/usb3 motherboard.

    and here are the results:

if you'll notice, there's a difference at the cpu voltage. The cpu voltage of i5-3570k is much higher than the i5-3550.

    My questions are:
    1. Is this normal or is something wrong?
    2. Does an i5-3550 have a lesser voltage than an i5-3570k?
3.What will happen if a cpu has too much voltage?
4.What will happen if a cpu lacks voltage?

Kindly please share your knowledge. Thanks

First of all that is normal.

Here is why. The non K CPU only clocks up with BCLK, and very little of that. So hardly any change in real terms of the CPU core frequency, and of course no need then for additional voltage.

With the K CPU you have multipliers that can change and give you a huge increase in CPU core speed. Hence the need of more voltage.

The last two question - it gets to hot and can cause damage over a long period of time. Check your temps with CoreTemp or HWMonitor
If there is not enough voltage the CPU will not function as needed at the frequency that is set.

is 1.125 volts already high for a 3.9 ghz? after using asus auto tuning, the results were 103x38. 15% increase

Not at all. It safe , so no need to get paranoid on it.
Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.
