Video Guide: CAP Converter BIOS Update

If you’re now updating your motherboard BIOS for any reason, you’ll need to do the CAP conversion.
This is a two-step process which we’ve detailed in the video below so you can see how it works, and
as a reference to check if your update has gone smoothly.



For Rampage IV Extreme
If your BIOS version is 1404 or older, please install the BIOS Converter first before you update the BIOS.

The BIOS Converter is an ASUS-exclusive utility that allows you to convert the BIOS structure from .ROM
to .CAP for Windows 8 full-functionality.

It is not possible to roll back to earlier version after CAP conversion.

The CAP conversion is necessary for Windows 8 full-functionality.
At the moment, we have yet to receive a word for P67/Z68 MB.

It's possible, to Flash Back to 1xxx.ROM, rename 1xxx.rom to ERALL.ROM and use USB Flashback

When I flashed the bios 2003, I used the file "CAP Converter" in the first, and at the end of the update, I had directly bios 2003 (no need to install bios 2003. cap)
