G73SW against G74SX and the VX7

I have the ASUS G73SW-3DE...

I was originally getting an ASUS VX7 cause it has 16GB Ram, 3GB video Ram and Blu-Ray Burner, but then it was only a 15.6" model. I wanted a 17.3" or bigger so I went with G73SW-3DE without even knowing it has a Blu-Ray Burner and a Matte type display...which ended up as a bunus, plus 3D feature and 120Hz refresh rate for $300 less!

Comparing the G73SW-3DE to the VX7...

How much difference can a 3GB Vram do compared to a 1.5GB?

Comparing the G73SW-3DE to the G74SX...

How much difference is it between the GTX460m and the GTX560m?

I think over all the 3DE model is like the best configuration for the buck...

to tell you the truth, if you don't play the DX11 games ,they are the same, because the DX11 takes too much video ram ,while the DX9/10 not

I'm a little surprised they even put only 1.5GB on an expensive 3D notebook . . .

I think I recall reading that the 560m is 10-15% faster than the 460m. However, since theres vastly better cooling in the G74SX, one can overclock the 560m quite a bit more (e.g. using MSI Afterburner) which gives you even more of an edge (that is if you want to overclock at all in the first place: not necessary but fun for real geeks like me). I don't have quantitative information for how much more you can get out of the 560m this way.

10 to 15% is a LOT to an OC'er
