John Carmack rates the ASUS VG278H 120Hz monitor!

As one of the worlds most well-known PC game developers, John Carmack needs little introduction. His keynote at the yearly Quakecon event is always worth watching if you’re either into your technical hardware or software. This year’s is an epic 3 hours 37 minutes, but during which – at 52 minutes – John drops this little nugget about 120Hz displays he’s tried and approves of:

It’s a rare, wonderful display these days that essentially has no latency. The Alienware 120Hz display and the ASUS 120Hz display [VG278H] – I checked the timing on those and they are good monitors that have very, very little latency. [It's] essentially the same as using a CRT.
    Thank you, John!

Did anyone watch the full 3 hours?

When I get reeeally sad about missing someone far away, I just take a deep cleansing breath, then switch to the rifle with a scope.

I'm going to, I've watched pieces of past ones. His discussions and various Youtube interviews are pure techie gold. The guy is so insanely smart that he isn't too proud. He's good and he knows it, but he doesn't beat down other good game developers...and the guy likes open-source, which makes me (LINUX fan) happy.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

We now have 123 people whose systems will not break! Yippee!
LINUX Users, we have a group!
