As one of the worlds most well-known PC game developers, John Carmack needs little introduction. His keynote at the yearly Quakecon event is always worth watching if you’re either into your technical hardware or software. This year’s is an epic 3 hours 37 minutes, but during which – at 52 minutes – John drops this little nugget about 120Hz displays he’s tried and approves of:
Thank you, John! It’s a rare, wonderful display these days that essentially has no latency. The Alienware 120Hz display and the ASUS 120Hz display [VG278H] – I checked the timing on those and they are good monitors that have very, very little latency. [It's] essentially the same as using a CRT.
Did anyone watch the full 3 hours?

proud. He's good and he knows it, but he doesn't beat down other good game developers...and the guy likes open-source, which makes me (LINUX fan) happy.
