OK I Have an ASUS ROG G73SW-3DE...the power supply that came with my laptop is a straight DC in cable...I have seen some G73's that has an "L" type shape...

Its not realy I big thing...but I have been hitting the cable on mine while playing games with my mouse since I have a straight connector...

Where can I get an 'L" adapter that works with the 150w Power brick?

If there isn't one sold explicitly for that power supply(I don't know if there is) then I'd be hesitant to buy one online. Tolerances are tight so your measurements would have to match perfectly for pin & barrel. You might be able to find something like that at an electronics supply place (ie RadioShack). I've gone into a place like that and just tried different tips until I found one that had a snug fit.

You can also get an inexpensive PSU replacement that has one. The Targus APA05US is a 180w PSU and has L tips. I use this model on several G Series units.

Thanks for the replies...

For the 180w power supply...you think i can get more performance out of the G73SW-3DE? I noticed that on high settings on 3D mode its eems like its always maxing 150w use I wonder if it can use th extra 30w if needed?

I find the 180w brick gives it more breathing room. With overclocking, I also have up to 172w peaks. Having a proper 180w unit would mean that the unit is less stressed for the desired output, and would be more efficient, and produces less heat. Basically, it's better all-around. 🙂 Plus having a spare unit on-hand is a good idea.

is there anything higher than 180w?

Do you have reason to believe that you're drawing more than 180w? Bigger is not better in this case. You want a power supply that is just slightly larger than your actual consumption.

Bigger is fine, just more expensive. The larger the capacity, the more efficient it will be, and cooler. I know some units have a 220w brick.
