Rampage II Extreme - QPI Frequency Problem

Hello everybody!,
i have an ASUS Rampage II Extreme with a Core I7 975EE... my QPI Frequency it's always stucked at maximum multiplier. I have my QPI Frequency always x24, even if i change the value to lowest multiplier in BIOS... i have answered to ASUS Motherboard Support Team and they have told me that I can't change that value (though it appears in the BIOS to select). Why?

Are you running the latest BIOS and is this a retail CPU?? On the EE processors QPI frequency is normally selectable.

Yes,
1914 BIOS. I can reach 4,2Ghz but i always get it with a BCLK of 160... because my QPI Frequency (though i select another multiplier in BIOS) it's always at x24... 3850Mhz x 2 = 7,7GT/s. If i increase my BCLK beyond 160 i can't post, my QPI Frequency it's always fixed to x24 only i can use 218 BCLK to POST if i set my QPI Frequency to "SLOW MODE"... my BCLK limit (160) it's limited by my QPI Frequency multiplier.

That is strange on a retail CPU, I thought it might be an engineering sample hence the lock. Anyway, if clearing the CMOS hasn't cured it the only other thing you can try is flashing back some of the earlier BIOSes and seeing if those adjust the QPI ratio.

The ASUS Rampage II's LCD POSTER "says" --> Locked. The Asus Motherboard's support team told me that i can't change the value (though i have changed it in the BIOS)... I would like to change that QPI Frequency, i have cleard CMOS (with the board back button) and i can't change the value. How can i "move" to another BIOS version?, if i try to install another version than i have, i can't because the updater says that is an older version than i have...

Send me a CPU-Z screenshot of the CPU and also a CPU-Z register dump file (you'll find the option in one of the CPU-Z tabs) which I will forward to HQ - not sure there is/will be a fix, just strange that the QPI ratio doesn't take.

Now i have BIOS 1914 and my maximum BCLK it's 160 with a QPI-Frequency's 3850Mhz.

The info will help diagnose the problem if HQ look into it, which is why I asked. Soon as you get that to me I'll forward it..
