Looks fairly complicated, hopefully someone has a bit of time on their hands to work this one out!

For MEI Driver it's OK, but I have not tested for the firmware, it's complicated?

And I tried to install (.exe), and I got it 3 update, what they correspond?
If I want to manually install

I was able to successfully update to ME version 8.1.10.1286 by using FITC to save the image for Patsburg X79 (Change number of flash components to 0 for ME only, as Intel instructs) then flash it using "fptw64 -ME -F ME8_X79_HED.bin"

(If you'd like you can make backup of ME region with fptw64 -ME -D backup.bin)

Worked 100% perfect. Make sure you shutdown after you flash (reboot is not enough)

Also, if it wasn't clear by the utility this flash was done inside of Windows, although I'm sure it would work the same if performed from a DOS boot.

You are likely trying to use the wrong tool.
Re-read my post and do exactly as I instructed. If you do this incorrectly you run the risk of ruining your board.

That's what I do not understand (which is what is in FITC)

by using FITC to save the image for Patsburg x79 (Change flash region to 0 for ME only, as Intel instructs) then flash it using "fptw64 -ME -F ME_81101286_X79.bin" (outimage being the output file from FITC)
    Thanks

    Thanks
Just follow "Simple Instructions" - the info you quoted is how I generated the valid image for our board and not applicable to those just wanting to update.
