Let's fine tune my OC

Affinitii

Okay so I'm at 4.7 max load likes to put 1.448vcore -- offset puts it at a +0.080 I belive. LLC is Medium, 160% on the power control.

I've been pretty basic with the overclock, leaving XMP and everything else on auto, VCCSA etc all auto -- but I wonder if I can lower my CPU vcore if I find the sweet spots on these other settings.

Any suggestions? where should I start with all of my settings? anything lower than +0.080 so far has resulted in BSOD's in Windows 8 running IBT (or IBT spitting out a FAILED message a few passes in).

CPU?
Motherboard?
Rest of hardware?

will be difficult for ppl to assist if they dont know the basic hardware being used.

Yeap, more details about your hardware would be helpful... also, would be nice to know your temps (ambient and CPU cores)...

Rampage IV Extreme
32GB Ram (2133Mhz)
Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240GB SSD
Agility 3 120GB SSD

2x2TB 7200RPM HDD's in RAID0

HAF X Case with an H100

Max temps at the existing settings (maxes out at 1.448-1.562 I think?) under full IBT load is 84C on the package, as low as 74C on a few of the cores.

Ambient room temp is about 24C

Start by setting VCCSA 1.25V. That may allow you to reduce your Vcore, if you're lucky. And mine needed CPU PLL 1.9V. YMMV.
i7-3930K; Asus RIVE; G.SKILL Ripjaws Z 4x4GB DDR3 1866; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB;

Dell U2412m IPS 1920x1200; Cooler Master HAF 932 case; Tripp-Lite OMNIVS1500 UPS fully Line-interactive.
(EVGA site: ) And I have a second (wife's) computer, Eve.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

She doesn't seem to want to budge.

I never go over 87C on the package under full IBT, but the voltage USED to max at 1.448 and is now hitting 1.452 for osme reaosn, but is stable. Are the volts too high for 24/7 usage? Using offset +0.85 Medium LLC 120%. I know my 4.5 was stable about 1.36-1.38vcore under full load. I cannot seem to get 4.6 under 1.41 vcore, but I shave off about ~5C on the full package by having it around 1.41

thoughts/suggestions? What vcore should I aim for 24/7? More CPU room the better as I use most of it regularly for 8+ hours a day.

Here's my results:

16429

Starts off with gflop around 137, goes up as high as 141, bounces between 137 and 141 a few times near the end.

Maybe someone who understands what those values can help me out a bit more 😛 Are these alright results?

I wouldn't want my CPU getting that hot for 8 hours a day. You're about 4°C away from TjMax. I'd drop it to 45 bump the bclk up a bit. 102 will get you to 4590. If you want to go further than that on a 24/7 system, you'll need more cooling than a H100 can typically provide.
