Crosshair V and memory issues RAJA PLEASE HELP_!

    Ok, here is the setup....

    1100T
    Crosshair V Bios 0506
    Memory G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

    1333mhz
    Setting 9-9-9-24 trc 40 cr 2T voltage 1.55
    CPU/NB 1.25

Ok, this is the issue. I started off with Patriot memory, got everything up and stable based off your sticky's and forums. Run memtest86 4.0/4.2 can't remember which it is but its' the most updated. Failed tremendously on Test 7. Over 1 million errors. RMA memory got new set. Thinking it's a bad set. Same thing.

Ok, ordered new memory g-skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 8gb twin set 2x4 and returned the Patriot. Thinking it was a comparability issue since the Patriot where not on the QVL.

Now since I have QVL memory installed. First red slots set settings to yours and g-skills sight BSOD's again. Upped CPU/NB voltage, stable. Run memtest86 again, fails test 7 again!!!! Same thing.

I run prime 95, fails within 2 mins, hard freeze. CPU temp never went about 42.

Once again, here are my settings....

    1333mhz
    Setting 9-9-9-24 trc 40 cr 2T voltage 1.55
    CPU/NB 1.25
    Currently in black slots
    Everything else is on auto....

Right now I'm not getting any BSOD and it seems to be stable meaning not crashing but still sluggish and I still can not run MEMTEST without getting errors on TEST 7. HCI memtest ran all night last night, 10 hours, no issues. I haven't tried prime 95 again but I'm about too....

I'm begging to think this is not a settings issue and it could be the board or processor. I already know it's not the memory as I am on my 3rd set and still the same issues....

I apologize for being so lengthy but I am at a loss and I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone else besides RAJA, if you have the same board and memory and CPU and have got everything stable at stock, please post your settings in BIOS...

    Thanks....

    Hi,

Have you set Read to Read delay to 4?

I don't use Memtest86, but if you are make sure you are running the latest version:

    Memtest86+ version 4.20 http://www.memtest.org/

Not sure I understand a little sluggish; changing Read to Read from 3 to 4 would not be something you would notice physically in platform response.

meaning the computer is still running a little sluggish, i.e. opening programs, etc... I did get memtest to run a 2 full passes though with no errors finally. Any other settings you can recommend bringing up to help stabilize this???

Check your ECC settings... i've noticed that mine were turned on by default ( BIOS 0506 ) and has been confirmed by others.

That'll be more to do with your drives than memory or CPU overclock.

Ok, so basically I have to up the drives one at a time from what I have been reading? or lower them? I'm fairly new to all this and I apologize in advance.

vvulture, your right, the ECC made a world of a difference...... everything is running smooth!!! Now I think it's time to overclock a little, but first I need to run prime95 to see how stable everything really is!
