    Which RAM to use???

I am going to be doing a major upgrade to my current computer and I need to know what RAM to use in a ASUS Crosshair V Formula Motherboard. I would like to stick to a "Black & Red" theme so, I am thinking of Dominator GT RAM... Has anyone got any suggestions???

For current processors I would stick with DRAM kits rated at DDR3-2000 tops (DDR3-1600~1866 preferred). That's about the limits of what good Thuban CPUs can get stable without too much fuss. Anything higher than that needs specific memory ICs and PCBs; to date the only kit I know of that consistently pull off speeds over DDR3-2050 is GSkill's 8GB Flare kit which is no longer in production.

Cheers Mate... The RAM I have been looking at is Corsair CMT4GX3M2A2000C8 DDR3. The CPU I intend to start with is the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition, I'll look at upgrading to the AMD Bulldozer in about 12 months or so.

I was able to get four 2GB Kingstron dimms ( 8GB total ) running at 2084mhz, 1.6125v, 8-9-8-27, 2T. 100% prime stable ( 8h ) and 100% memtest86+ stable ( 8h ). higher speeds would fail memtest86+ ( test 5 ). Increasing latency solved up to 2133mhz, but didn't try more, as at this moment I'm more concerned with CPU overclock. Currently at 4188mhz core, and 3300mhz NB.

this is the cpuz report you can check the product id of the memory modules:

this is the product name: KHX2333C9D3T1K2/4GX

good luck. I've had a really hard time getting this memory running ok with this board. almost three days of trials messing with voltages, timmings and driving parameters. Crosshair IV would run them at 2084mhz with no problems..
