Asus Matrix p GTX 580 and BFBC2 issues.

Hello gamers, so i bought a new rig few days ago, had problem with cpu heating, so i change thermal paste, got H60 and now it never reached 60C.. but thats not important lol. anywho, so i want your opinion of this:

my gtx 580 idle temps are 28-33C, on load, it never reached 70C, and depends on what fan speed am on, most games it never reached 65C and mostly stable at 52-55C. i never changed its clock settings because its already overclocked "asus matrix p" settings, heres a picture: http://oi52.tinypic.com/2e3945l.jpg

and here is my fan speed setup: http://oi52.tinypic.com/64q87b.jpg

so what do you think? should i clock it more ? or leave it as is ? im getting decent fps in all games maxed out. My fan speeds up for 3-7secs then slows down when reaches the lower temp, then speeds up again after 3-5 secs when the temp goes up again, its kinda weird but lol w.e (does it damage the fan?)

and one more thing ocs, i've been having a problem with bfbc2, when i play it, 20min or so in game and i get a blue screen of death, all temps are good, but just suddenly happens, and it only happens with bfbc2.

    thank you.

If you are getting good framerates at the quality you would like to see then I don't see a reason to overclock it other than bragging rights. Even though modern hardware has become so much more fault tolerant there is always the chance of damage or a shorter life when overclocking. If you don't need to do it then I would wait until you start seeing games that outclass your card. At that point I would OC rather than buying a new card.

As for bfbc2 I suspect it might just be an issue that needs to be patched. I would check the Windows event log to see if you can get any idea what is happening when you get BSOD. Otherwise you might want to try turning down the settings for a while to see if you still get a crash. Even though you are getting decent frames it might help you track down the issue.

    Hi KD101GTS!

Here is a software that can become useful to assemble information regarding the BSOD issue.

BFBC2 have few bugs but in 600 hours I play with it I have never experienced a BSOD , and this in quite few builds since the release ( actually I don't remeber the time I see one BSOD on my PC )

As for BF3, well me and my son we play quite few hours too , quite few bugs but no BSOG , with a Score per minute over 700 , beleive it I push my build quite a lot , the problem is not with those games, it's something else

As for using Gigolobyte software on Asus board, well, no comments

You can't buy a card such as the Matrix and not overclock it dude you'll be wasting your money on not using the card for what it was designed for!

You can get so much more performance out of it. Make the most of it, give it some juice! I intend to when mine arrives!

As for your BFBC2 problem I am not sure, All I know is if you are using MSI Afterburner or a program like that the game locks up and your computer freezes with an audible buzzing sound coming out of your speakers. Lots of people have had that problem. It's Punkbuster which does not like that program. So I am not 100% sure because I never saw a bluescreen, but like I said up there ^ my computer did freeze and lock up. Maybe try disabling Afterburner or the ROG GPU software and then run the game and see if it's problem free?
