Unknown Bluetooth Peripheral Device?

Ryguy

This is my first ROG build. I must say this is some nice hardware, and I am remarkably happy with it. I am just having one minor issue: I have 2 exclamations points stating that there are unknown bluetooth peripheral devices in my system. The parent of these devices is BTH\MS_BTHBRB\7&177b9cc2&0&1. I can give additional info from the details tab of the device if needed.

Sorry, I'm on a Maximus V Extreme with a 3770k cpu and Windows 7 Pro.

Go into bios and disable your bluetooth devices if you are not using them.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Disabling them in the BIOS removed the exclamation points, of course, but I thought I WAS using them? I do not currently have my manual handy, but the Bluetooth is on the mPCIe combo card, correct? For Bluetooth 4.0? I am using the combo card and the wifi on it, which off the top of my head (and some minor googling), I thought included the Bluetooth 4.0 as well. If I'm incorrect, I will humbly withdraw and ask what Bluetooth it is I'm not using? I went through the BIOS quick and tried it before leaving for the weekend. I won't be back to it (or the manual) until sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Or go to the ASUS support page and download the latest bluetooth drivers and install them.

The mPCIe card is reponsible for the Wifi and Bluetooth. Just make sure you installed the driver for it and they'll work without hiccups. As for the Bluetooth, the MVE supports Bluetooth V4.0 and Bluetooth V3.0+HS.

Ok, sorry for the later response than intended... after rereading the manual and it not being much help as to what precisely the 'Bluetooth Controller' handles in the BIOS, some clarification would be appreciate. I mean, I can bluetooth to/from my phone without issue, so I can only figure what I have disabled pertains to the mPCIe card's BT 4.0? No big deal, but I would then be curious as to why there is no device detected? I had installed and reinstalled drivers from CD/website repeatedly to no avail. I would love to use the BT 4.0, but I won't lose sleep over it. The lack of device recognition bothers me more than anything else - disabled in the BIOS or no.

Also, I just want to throw it out there in case it's related: I have been experiencing infrequent BSOD's - a total of 6 since 07 Apr 2013. They are always related to an inconsistent power state, so drivers are at fault from what I can determine. I have updated the BIOS, vid drivers, sound drivers, firmware where ever necessary, all to no avail. If I need to create a new post in relation to this BSOD, I will. I just figured I would ask here first in the off chance they're related issues. Here's the most recent minidump to hopefully have somebody here confirm if this floating bluetooth device is causing more trouble than it's worth:

Sorry, by what BT device, I mean what plug/device on the motherboard? Obviously, the mPCIe is installed and the wifi is working (that's what I'm using currently), so what is missing to leave devices unknown after multiple driver installs?
