Some n00bie/Serious questions Crosshair V (Kinda Long)

So I recently built myself a new computer & bought myself a Crosshair V. Everything seems to be going well so far. Ive only been running it for about a day or two. I got just a simple question regarding the LEDs on the Motherboard. All of mine are green except for the HDD LED that sometimes will flicker yellow whenever I seem to be doing something. I don't think its a problem. My question is about the CPU LED. This morning I tried the Performance OC in the UEFI. The one under EZ Mode. I noticed that the CPU LED went from green to Yellow. Made me nervous so I just set it back to its default. My question is, I see people posting all over the place about OCing this Motherboard to 4.0GHz or more, Is the CPU LED a cause for worry? Or do most people ignore it? I understand that they must have pretty good cooling. I think I have decent cooling. HAF 932 Case & Arctic Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler. Stock Fans plus a 120mm in the middle for my 560TI. I have no intentions about extreme OCing (maybe down the road) but is it OK if I used that preset OC? Should I worry about the CPU LED?

Next Question is simply about updating the BIOS. I'm using 0404 right now and I know 0506 is out. Thing is I don't seem to be having any problems right now. Should I still update it?

Next Question is about my USB mouse... Its a pretty old mouse. MX510. Ive been using this mouse for YEARS! Only in my new computer does it seem to disconnect & reconnect CONSTANTLY!!! I cant stop dying in Bad Company 2 because of this! I don't know how to fix it either. Logitech has no drivers for Windows 7 for it and some Vista users said to try downloading Setpoint & I did but it fixed NOTHING! Same problem. Its very frustrating. Any Ideas? I might just have to get a new mouse...

Next Question is probably pretty serius. Whenever I shut down my computer, The lights at the bottom of the motherboard stay on (OC,START,RESTART). They wont go off. Everything else does except that. Is this normal?

    Specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom II x6 1100T (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler)
    Crosshair V Mobo
    Corsair Vengeance 8Gigs 1600MHz (2x4gigs)
    GTX 560TI Superclocked
    CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 800w
    Windows 7 64Bit
    CoolerMaster HAF 932 Full Tower

Hope someone reads all this! I know its long but I would REALLY REALLY appreciate ANY input from you guys!

    Hi,

Quite a few questions is one post so I'll number out the responses.

    1) The LED changing color is normal, depending upon the level of voltage applied - do not worry about this.

    2) The LED flickering with HDD activity is normal - that is what it is supposed to do.

    3) You will have to check how stable the board is with your current cooling - again this has nothing to do with the LED.

    4) Update the BIOS to the latest build.

    5) Some of the Logitech mice are known to have issues, so if you are in the market for a new mouse now would be a good time I suppose. I use a Razer Copperhead myself.

    6) The lights at the bottom of the board are standby, they will remain on indicating that standby power is present.

Thanks for the reply Raja! I guess I need to read up on how voltage works. Not too sure whats too low or too high. I just don't want something to happen to the board. I dont understand what you mean on #6 about standby power being present. Is this a bad thing? Might you be willing to explain a little bit more please? Thanks =)

Power is on to the board, the lights are calling you to turn it on.
Shut off the power supply or strip if this bothers you.
It just means the board has power.c.

Dont worry about the CPU_LED on the board, i have mine RED, thats because i have a voltage of 1.525v on the V core, you just need to have cooling to keep the processor below 62ºC thats all.

In the manual it says, which color corresponds to which voltage range.

I think until 1.4v its green, and until 1.5v yellow, after 1.5v red. (not sure)

Take a good read on the manual and you will find that info.

    Good luck.

no it's not right , good thing you said to check in the manual, I have the manual on front of me and it's on page 2-16, a very nice chart about the led. Will have post it but i think the OP have to read the manual.
