What utility do I use to update my bios? Maximus IV Gene-Z

I see the latest bios is 0403 on Asus.com. I downloaded it and used the tools in the bios to attempt to flash it and it says it is not a valid file type. I had the .ROM saved in the root of my C drive (which is a RAID1 miror). I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. The Bios update tool was able to browse my C drive without any issues.

I can't find an Asus Update utility for Windows.

Do I have to install the whole Asus suite of applications? I would prefer to avoid that.

Hi,

Do you have a FAT 32 partitioned flash drive by any chance? You can use that. Or you can use ASUS Update from within the OS if you like.

I don't know where to download the Asus Update...

The Windows updater is part of AI Suite. If you have a USB stick as Raja wrote you can flash from within the UEFI (BIOS).
